China’s shipbuilding industry has a long history of development. Since the reform and opening up, it has been striding forward from its Time 1.0 of opening up to the outside world, through the Time 2.0 featuring high speed and large scale, now into the Time 3.0 featuring restructuring and transforming the industry from a big one to a strong one in an all-round way.
The industry now is facing new development opportunities. The Eighteenth National Congress of Communist Party of China has clearly defined the industry’s strategic goal as “We should enhance our capacity for exploiting marine resources, develop the marine economy, protect the marine ecological environment, resolutely safeguard China’s maritime rights and interests, and build China into a maritime power”. With this, under new circumstances, we, China Association of National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI), must have a good understanding of new changes made in international and domestic trade, new features in international and domestic industrial competition，new trends in international and domestic market as well as new directions in international and domestic technological innovation. We should carry forward our fine traditions and be realistic and pragmatic. And we will continue to work hard to fulfil the nation’s important strategic demands, and do everything we can to serve the industry and enterprises. We will spare no effort to build China into a maritime power.
CANSI has established a dialogue mechanism with the world’s major shipbuilding countries and regions and we have already achieved very good cooperation. Now let’s join hands to make new contributions to the healthy development of the world shipbuilding industry.
